Hello! I'm Chester. I am a 10 year old fawn neutered male pug. When I was little one of my siblings scratched my eye, which later had to be removed. Unfortunately not long after, I had an accident involving my other eye, which lead me to go blind. I have lived 10 wonderful years with my dad and he loved me so much. My dad has passed away now and I need to find a home. I am a sweet and friendly old man, and make a great companion. I like to sleep a lot and I love food as well. As you can see I could use to lose a little weight, but I am in fairly good health for my age. I am house trained and have no incontinent problems. I need a new home for my retirement.


Chester doesn't like things that jingle or ring. He gets a little anxious/apprehensive and barks until the high pitched sounds stop. His overall health is good for his age, but he does have some weakness in hind legs due to age and is missing teeth. Chester is good with men, women, and children, and both dogs and cats!

XXX URGENT!!! Arkansas Blind Chi X **Found Running in Circles**

This adorable, blind Chi X was found running in circles, in traffic, no less, in Arkansas a couple of weeks ago. He is in desperate need of finding a forever home or rescue now!!! The family that saved him when he was in traffic cannot keep him and will have to take him to the local shelter, which is a kill shelter, and his chances of surviving there are nill to none!!! A lady called us today and two weeks ago she found a small Chihuahua running circles in traffic. She and her family were able to get the dog and she has spent two weeks looking for the owner (I am sure they dumped the dog) she cannot keep him and will have to take him to the local kill shelter and they will have no sympathy for him and kill him for sure. We have no fosters equipped to handle a blind dog and we were wondering if you might be able to help. He is very sweet and didn't try to bite them when they got him out of the traffic. Poor little guy, I am sure owners just dumped him because he is blind, he is probably between 5-7 yrs old (just a guess on their part). 4.) We CANNOT guarantee the health of an animal. We focus on preventative health and do not have the resources to have every animal vet checked prior to placement.

5.) Pull fees MUST be paid at the time of confirming the animal, and at the absolute latest, when the animal is picked up from our shelter. We no longer invoice- sorry!

Trish is an approximately 12 year old female Wire Haired Terrier mix that weighs about 30 pounds. She was found wandering on her own in the Glen Burnie area without identification in June. She is a very sweet dog that always appears to be smiling. She is going through some old age changes but her personality hasn't been diminished. She is looking for a new home where she can live out her golden years. Evaluator: Jeremy Handler: Carianne Helper Dog: A0939199 Andy walks calmly on the leash and was sociable toward the handler during the assessment - soft body, low wag. He was calm and relaxed during handling and when playing tag with assessor. Dog showed some concerning behavior during the food bowl test - stiffening, but did not snap at or bite the assess-a-hand. He was not interested in toys, but snapped at the assess-a-hand during the rawhide test. Andy was relaxed when approaching the helper dog, but was not playful. Look: 1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor's face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog stands with his tail low and wagging, and comes toward the Assessor in a friendly manner when the Assessor ceases moving. Squeeze 1/2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed or back. Food: 4. Dog freezes. Toy 1: No interest. Reassess at future date. Rawhide: 5. Dog attempts to bite. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, lip long or neutral.

Such a sad story of an 8 year old Shih-Tzu, located in Lancaster Shelter, Lancaster, CA, believed to be blind, or at least in one eye, very quiet and sad. Needs to be tagged by a rescue or adopted by the end of the day today 7/30!!!. As we believe it is never too late to try, we are begging for help. I'm sorry this picture came out so dark but this little guy needs out of Lancaster shelter. He was, believe it or not, listed as 3 years old. He looks at least 8. He's blind, at least in one eye, and very quiet and sad. He's in cage 727 as of today. He needs a comfortable home where he can be loved and cared for. He looks like he's given up on life and just doesn't care any more. He's over due to be put down and no one cares about him. He's like a fixture that nobody even knows is there. He needs an understanding, senior dog rescue who will understand his needs and help him to trust again. Please take pity on this lost little soul. Thank you.

Who does not like sweets and even more when they are beautifully wrapped? That was the idea behind the naming of Candy, a lovely little girl, barely 9 months of age who is the cutest and sweetest thing on earth. Candy came to us as a stray and one wonders why.....She is so beautiful, petite looking, all white beside a tiny brown spot on her lower back and a few on her belly. Her one blue eye can be spotted a mile away and attracts so many "whow" comments... She often tilts her head which makes her even cuter. Candy walks very nicely on the leash, she could be housetrained, sits on command and meets with other dogs in the most friendly way. She is very playful and loves to run after the ball. She likes to be hugged and kissed and showers me with licks as a thank you.... Candy has a little disability and I bet this is why she was let go by her former owners. Indeed she does not seem to hear very well, a frequent findings with all white or almost all white dogs. Hearing impaired cats and dogs make great pets just like their well hearing counterparts. Candy needs just to find the right master or family willing to open their home and heart to a wonderful pup with a twist. Candy is at the Manhattan Care Center waiting to be your girl.....

King was surrendered by his owner because he said he had no time for him, so he left King with no time as well! King is only 8 years old and has so many more good years ahead of him if only we could save him from this shelter!!!
