Shenandoah Valley Animal Service Center reserves the right to deny adoption to anyone at any time for any reason. In order to do what is best for each animal, they are adopted on a first come first served basis at the shelter to qualified recipients only. A drivers license or state ID must be shown at the shelter.
All animals adopted from the shelter must be spayed or neutered. Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center partners with many other pet services in the area to facilitate adoptions and rescues, as well as pet health services including spaying & neutering. Animals in the care of the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center that are not selected by the groups that facilitate adoptions will be offered for direct adoption at the Center. State law requires that every cat or dog that leaves the services center must be spayed or neutered. Currently any animal adopted from our facility will be spayed or neutered and given a rabies vaccination for free from the Shenandoah Valley Spay/Neuter Clinic in Harrisonburg.
