Dakota
Beautiful Dakota, a senior PBT X, with entropic eyes, has till 6/28 to find a forever home or rescue or she will be turned over to an Animal Control Shelter where she will not stand a chance!!! $650 has been pledged to a reputable rescue!!! Please help!! If you find you are not in a position to help at this time, please share her information quickly. Thank you. Toni writes the following:
Dakota is a 9 year old spayed female Pitbull mix. She is UTD on her shots and her Guardian has all of her paperwork. Dakota has some Alopecia and also both of her eyes are Entropic.
I am getting very, very worried and depressed about Dakota's situation. She only has a couple of weeks left before George moves without her and she is taken back to Animal Control. I have been posting her for weeks with no success!!! I am not sure what else to do; I can't afford to contribute any more money towards her sponsorship and I don't want her to have to go into long term boarding. This poor girl lost her first family and now she is about to lose her current family and ultimately her life through no fault of her own. Once again, her people have failed her. She is a sweet Senior girl, who is just looking for a forever loving home. If you have any space to 'squeeze' her in, or if anyone could commit to her in the future, please let me know ASAP. I am not convinced that her current Guardian is doing everything in his power to find a suitable placement for her and certainly doesn't seem to be taking any responsibility for her future, so it seems that by default her future has been placed in my hands. Once again, I would like to thank Dakota's other sponsors and the people who have also been crossposting for her. She still has $650 sponsorship which will go to a reputable rescue. Please let me know if there is anyone out there who can help at all.
She was put in temp boarding and is now back at home with George on a TEMPORARY basis until the end of this month when George moves; after that she is HOMELESS. Her sponsorship has increased by another $200 in the hopes that this will help to place her with a reputable rescue, so Dakota now has $650 in sponsorship!
Dakota's current Guardian can no longer keep her as he also has to move (amongst other personal issues). He adopted her to keep his male elderly dog company; there have been a few initial adjustment issues with his dog who is of a similar size to Dakota, but no issues at all with smaller dogs.
The first family said that she is good with children and cats, however Dakota's current person can't confirm this as he doesn't have either. This is what George has to say about her:
"She is a sweet dog, and likes to play and be petted and scratched. She is house-trained. Apparently she was allowed to sleep on furniture, as I have found her several times on my couch. She is also very obedient. I also think Dakota would be better in a home where there are people around a lot of the time, at least more than in my case."
A massive thank you to all of Dakota's sponsors:)
Please, please contact me if you can help this sweet girl. Thank you.
