Vallie was surrendered because her owner is moving. She is most likely completely blind but still very sweet. Please consider this older gal. She is OK with other dogs providing... they don’t annoy her and she has not been around cats.
I am an unaltered female, brown Labrador Retriever mix.
The shelter staff think I am about 11 years old.
I was found in NY 10302.
I have been at the shelter since Jun 04, 2012.

DO NOT call and say you are adopting unless you truly intend on physically going to the shelter to adopt the dog. It ties up phones lines and is a waste of the staff's time to explain the adoption procedure over the phone for someone who is purposely not going to show up. They need every free second of their time to answer calls, assist actual adopters, process intakes, and care for the animals. More importantly, they will note the dog’s file that an adopter is en route which will prevent an actual adopter from saving the dog. This is considered a "fake adoption" hold and that is how dogs fall through the cracks and end up being killed.
DO NOT e-mail unless serious about adopting and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed.

Vallie is scheduled to be euthanized tomorrow morning, June 9, 2012. Please, can anyone help her?
ReplyDeleteVallie is on the list for being euthanized TOMORROW, June 9th. If you can foster or adopt her, now is the time. Please check her FB page for local NYC rescues who are approved to pull dogs, and have them pull her for you. You will have to fill out their applications and get them back to them ASAP. Please help save Vallie's life!
