This beautiful PBT X is 8 years old and has a PTS date 7/01 in this high kill shelter!!! She is desperately looking for her forever home or rescue NOW!!! Please help! S/O: Presented as stray with bloody vaginal discharge. Eating well, drinking normally to excessively. EENT - no ocular or nasal discharge. Limited facial exam due to aggressive behavior. CV - mm pink, ver y slightly tachy. CRT < 2 sec. No murmurs/arrhtyhmias ausculted, strong & synch pulses. HR 140 pm, RR 26. Resp - Lungs clear all fields
GI/GU - unable to perform oral exam. Abdomen tense and painful, distended, Palpable soft tissue structure in caudal abdomen. Resents abdominal palpation - even superficial - did not fully assess condition of mammary glands. Bloody mucoid to mucopurulent vulvar discharge.
MS - thin body condition with loss of lean muscle mass along dorsum. Unwilling to ambulate more than a few steps but no obvious lameness noted
Integ - dull dry coat, slightly thin in areas. Neuro – appropriate A: Presumptive pyometra
P: 500mL LRS SQ. Start Clavamox 375mg po BID and Tramadol 50mg po BID - first doses given. Re-assess in morning and seek placement before proceeding with OVH.

DO NOT call and say you are adopting unless you truly intend on physically going to the shelter to adopt the dog. It ties up phones lines and is a waste of the staff's time to explain the adoption procedure over the phone for someone who is purposely not going to show up. They need every free second of their time to answer calls, assist actual adopters, process intakes, and care for the animals. More importantly, they will note the dog’s file that an adopter is en route which will prevent an actual adopter from saving the dog. This is considered a "fake adoption" hold and that is how dogs fall through the cracks and end up being killed.
DO NOT e-mail unless serious about adopting and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed.
