He was turned in yesterday by his owner (they did not give a reason why). They said that he was hit by a car when he was just a few weeks old. As a result, he lost his eye and experienced some head trauma. They said that although he's about 2 years old, much of the time he acts like a 6 month old pup.

In the two days he's been here, we haven't seen anyting bizarre or strange about him. He seems very quiet and laid back and is quite calm in his kennel; I haven't heard him bark at all. He is a bit nervous in these surroundings, but that makes him walk right by your side and sit by your feet. I'm sure its traumatic being in a loud kennel full of strange dogs. He is already neutered and his owner said he is housebroken, good with kids and other dogs (but not cats). He has been an indoor dog and is heartworm negative. We gave him a distemper/parvo vaccine and deworming. So all he needs now is a rabies shot and a home! He weighs a stout 77 pounds, but doesn't seem like too big a dog. Since he is an owner surrender, there is no mandatory hold time. He is available immediately for adoption or rescue... which we hope happens. I enjoyed the brief time with him this afternoon getting his photos. I'm sure he'll pull some heart strings if you'll come and meet him too. He's already got some generous people pulling for him and has $160 in pledged donations to the rescue that saves him.
