SAFE!! XX URGENT!! IL, Tilton "Smokey" Senior Cocker Spaniel w/Cherry Eye **Very Sweet**

"Smokey"

His rescue's foster home fell through and he is URGENT!

Tilton, Illinois - need your help to find rescue this week! The shelter is rescue friendly. However they have no choice but to euthanize for space. They help with transport and so do we!

Smokey is a VERY sweet, Male NEUTERED Cocker Spaniel.

Owner surrender, house broken, 10 years young. Possible Cherry eye and cannot see very well. Very, very sweet, 35.9 lbs, micro chipped, leads nice on leash, knows his name and loves to be petted and loved! Smokey is fine with other dogs, very easy going and seems ok with cats also. He is Heartworm NEG and has vaccinations.

Here is what one of the shelter staff had to say about Smokey:

Sweet Smokey. He is such a sweet dog, he waits for me when I get to work in the morning and has his tail wagging 100 miles a minute. He has trouble seeing but we take the same route each morning and he has figured out the route he sure does know exactly where he is going. All you have to do is call his name and he knows we are ready to go; he has learned how to go down one step and back up, he has walked up to the fence where other dogs are and all he does is smell them, shows no aggression towards them. Some days his kennel is very clean and other times its not, when he was brought to the shelter we were told he was house broken, I have never heard him bark, after our morning walk (which he does good on a leash) He gets his eyes cleaned, because they get matted from the night before, he is just like a little kid getting his face cleaned,he just stands there and lets me put eye drops in them and by then he is ready to eat, I mix canned food with dry, and he shows no food aggression, you kinda have to show him where his food is, he is fed 2x a day, then he gets his short after noon walk, and we start all over again, I think he might be able to see a little but not sure, His teeth might need a cleaning too, but all-n-all Smokey is a good boy, he learns very easy just show him where things are and in a few days he will know where he is going.

PLEASE help this sweet older boy!! If you can RESCUE or SPONSOR Smokey, please contact us!
