5/12 - LADY'S TIME IS UP PER SHELTER. Lady is a 12 yr. old female Chow who has been at the North Central Shelter since 4/21/12. She was an owner surrender after someone gave her to them as a "gift" five years ago. The "gift" was put outside and forgotten and then discarded at the North Central Shelter. She is now in a small cage and once again "forgotten" because she is afraid and doesn't make too much noise or fuss. Forget that she has possible damage or a missing eye, a matted, dirty coat, possibly ticks and fleas, and who knows what else. She's a Lady and won't expect anything of anyone, at least not anymore.
The shelter has decided that her time is up by EOD today , Saturday 5/12. "If it were their "pet" they would have put her down a while ago. What use is an old dog?" So much for "Lady Luck". This poor Lady has had NONE her entire life.

5/12 - Pat from NC contacted me this morning and Lady's time is up today EOD 5/12/12. She's very depressed and has almost lost her will to live. She isn't be treated b/c she's afraid and shelter staff are just letting her be. PLEASE SAVE THIS GIRL! Call Pat, Supervisor at (213) 485-5767 if you have a CTA. No guarantees she will be held past close today. Best is someone PULL her or RESCUE her. PLEASE!!!

4/26 - IP Hold until 4/27 close of day. This beautiful senior girl was owner surrender after being given to them as a "g ift" 5 years ago. She is up for adoption; very afraid and may have medical issues with her right eye. Shelter staff has not been able to get close enough to check. She's 52 lbs and good with strangers and family alike. Please network this dear to see if we can make her last days better than the first 12!
4/23 - Yes this beautiful senior 12 yr oldis a Lady A1302347 and arrived @ North Central Shelter on 4/21. Please network this poor girl!!

Regrettably, we seem to be seeing more and more SENIOR CHOW/Xs being DUMPED at shelters. What a HEARTBREAKING TREND this is. The CONFUSION and FEAR they must feel! The need is so great, we are setting up an album just for them. All SENIOR dogs are considered URGENT; many times, they are NOT likely to be ADOPTED or RESCUED. Please open your HOME and HEART to a SENIOR!
