SAFE!!! NJ, Vineland "Dylan" Senior Blind w/Hearing Loss Cocker **Easy Going**

Dylan

Dylan is a beautiful 10 year old Cocker Spaniel with the nicest personality and easy going temperament, is blind and has some hearing loss. His foster Mom writes the following.

Please help me share my foster dog Dylan. I'd love him to find a home ASAP... he is blind and hearing-impaired, but that doesn't stop Dylan. He's a happy, attention-loving, funny dog who deserves a home where he will receive lots of love and attention. He is getting very comfortable and would do best to get settled into his permanent home. In addition, a stray American Bulldog recently arrived at the shelter. He has end-stage heartworms and is getting ill in the shelter. I would love to be able to bring this dog to my home to care for and give him a peaceful foster home where he can either be treated or live out his life, but I cannot do 3 special needs fosters at once during the school year(if only it were June!). Dylan going to his permanent home would be the best thing for Dylan and give my other boy a chance. Please share... thank you :)

Dylan is 10 year old purebred Cocker Spaniel with the nicest personality and easy-going temperament. He is special needs because he is blind and has hearing loss, but he has managed to adjust to his new situation quickly and is a happy and affectionate dog who is a sweet and fun companion. Dylan gets along great with other animals, given a proper introduction. He is currently in a foster home with 2 large dogs, a Chihuahua, and a cat and he is great with all of them. Dylan is mellow and completely cooperative when being lead by his collar, picked up, bathed, and even when having his ears cleaned (if you know cocker spaniels, you know those ears!). Dylan is crate-trained (although he doesn't love his crate- probably because he has to spend so many hours a day in it!) and almost housebroken (he will have accidents if not taken out right away after a long sleep-normal senior stuff!). Dylan loves a comfy bed and loves to push and pull his blankets and pillow until they are just right! However, Dylan will ignore the comfiest of beds if it means he is relaxing by YOU and has a chance of getting his head scratched and some affection! After getting attention and a good nap, Dylan enjoys taking walks and eating!! Due to his easy-going personality, Dylan would do well in most households but may enjoy a stable home with a patient owner to help him out while he adjusts to his new surroundings. Dylan was brought into the shelter as a stray and was in terrible condition. He has since been cleaned up, groomed, and has been enjoying a stay in foster care instead of the high-stress shelter, but deserves a home of his own where he can be a true family member. He will make his new family very happy in return! If you believe that you can give Dylan the second chance he deserves, please contact his current foster Mom listed below.
