SAFE!!! CA, Idyllwild "Lucy" Senior Poodle/Terrier X Blind in Left Eye **Looking for Furever Home**

"Lucy"

From Ellie:
My name is Ellie, I am a Voluneteer at a small no-kill animal rescue called Animal rescue Friends in Idyllwild, CA. Recently we helped with a rescue at the home of an animal hoarder in one of our Mountain Comunities. There were close to 40 animals (cats and dogs) on the property most of which have been placed or gone to other rescues in the area. There are a few left at the house including a small, male, blind terrier. Our rescue is unable to take in any more as we have no facility, all our animals live in foster care, and we don;t have the funding for more dogs. We only have a short time to place the remaining dogs before animal controll removes them. I may be able to foster this dog at my home for a short time but already have multiple pets. I was hoping your organization could help us find a foster or placement for this dog.

Odin is now Lucy! He is in fact a she! She is making herself comfortable on my couch. Took her to the Vet yesterday afternoon. She is about 15 yrs old, blind in her left eye from an old injury, has a catteract in the right. Possibly a poodle/terrier mix. They diagnosed her with Demodectic mange. We're waiting for lab results today to see if her liver and Kidneys are strong enough for treatment. Had her teeth scraped but has some back ones that may need to come out. At the moment she seems quite a calm girl, likes to sleep a lot and is liking the attention she is getting here. I realize she will probably be impossible to place....

  1. Let me know what Lucy needs. I think this is an omen. Even though I live in Montana, I almost named my last dog "Lucy." I don't know if your little girl can travel but she would have a great home here for the rest of her days. I won't see any little old doggie do without a home if I can help it.
