Update 4/22:

Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department Volunteers writes: I've learned that Lacey is very mellow and gets along with other dogs well. She was turned into our shelter because the owner is elderly and couldn’t take care of her because she is blind. The staff sas she is eating well and appears to be healthy except for the blindness. "She is a really sweet dog, affectionate and gentle." The problem is we are heading into high intake season and the elderly and less adoptable dogs become at high risk if they can't be adopted out in a short time.

This beautiful girl is Lacy! Lacy is one of 400 in the Albuquerque shelter, and is getting overlooked..... Poor Lacy was surrendered because she is blind....

We have a sweet, nine year old boxer in our city shelter that was owner-surrendered because she is blind. Due to her age and disability, her changes for adoption are slim as we have over 400 dogs in the shelter.
