SAFE!! URGENT!! FL, Delray "Misty" Deaf Senior GSD **Neglected Service Dog**

"Misty"

Misty, a 13-year-old German shepherd, spent her life serving a person who was hearing impaired. Day after day, she devoted her every waking moment to improving that person's quality of life.

Sadly, that devotion was not returned.

Recently, a volunteer with a cat rescue visited the home where Misty resided. The volunteer was conducting a home inspection for the rescue organization, but their visit to the house was likely life-saving for the now elderly German shepherd.

That individual was appalled by what they saw when Misty walked into the room.

The once regal dog was now a pitiful shell of her former self. Her coat was unkempt and her ears were so infested with mites that she had lost her hearing.

No longer young enough to be a viable "working dog" - she had been cast aside and neglected.

Thankfully, Misty was removed from the house and taken to a temporary foster home where she would no longer be neglected.

But her days of safety and comfort are soon drawing to a close.

According to the person who is trying to find a home for Misty, at the end of this month, the temporary foster situation ends. Once again, the senior German shepherd will be in need.

Misty is described as friendly, good with cats and small dogs and tolerant of larger breed dogs. Above and beyond all else, Misty adores people.

Please take a moment to network Misty's story with the hopes that a home can be located before this month draws to a close. Misty deserves a safe, loving owner who will treat her with dignity and respect for the remainder of her Golden Years...
