  2. This pup was taken out of MDAS and spent 7 weeks dying in a boarding facility in Pompano Beach! So much for SAFE! Around the first week in May the owner of the facility asked if I could help her. The STILL OWNER said she ran out of money to get her treated! That owner lived 6 states away and took the Chipin money and left a dying dog in boarding. We took responsibility for her vetting from 4 states away and the FL vets kept saying kennel cough, pay me, kennel cough, pay me! I finally had her sent to a real vet for testing as she was dying of pneumonia, cancer, ear and eye and teeth/jaw infections, congestive heart failure (grade 6 murmur), mammary tumors, hernia and a couple odds and ends. She was blind and deaf! She was estimated 15+ years old, a breeding machine for somebody! We picked her up in FL after her being there for seven weeks, during trop storm Bryce, along with 8 others from MDAS. The others all had homes and Dahlia spent the next two months in the hospital, operations, treatments, etc. Dahlia had an adopter I was bringing her to and 700 miles into the trip the adopter backed out! She stayed with us. I guess she was supposed to all along. She went through hell but the next 6 months were the best of her life and she was happy every day w/ a couple hard days thrown in. Dahlia took a massive mixture of meds to keep her going. In Dec. of 2012 she was diagnosed with inoperable cancer. On 1/16/2013, Dahlia went into heart failure. She suffered for a day, as we tried to help her. Dahlia was euthanized on 1/17/2013 in NC, in loving arms. She is finally home. Yeah, she was rescued and safe!
