Piro
Piro is a handsome, 2 yr. old, blind Pit/Hound X. A very special dog, super friendly and playful, looking for his forever home where he will have a playmate. Piro was owner surrendered. His owners claimed that he was "destroying things by knocking them over,” and when they were told he is blind, they dumped him in a city shelter. A kind soul rescued him. Since then he has completed two training courses from Petsmart and is so well behaved! We think Piro is quite exceptional and would make a wonderful life long companion. Piro is now in a temporary foster home. Here is some of what his foster mom has to say about him:
Piro is an absolute doll! It would be awesome if he got to go to a house with another big, friendly dog. He definitely looks for that companionship. Sadly though, none of my dogs give him that. It's been nice outside, so I've been able to leave the back door open, and he comes and goes as he pleases. It breaks my heart to see him out there playing by himself and a football. I know he would love to have a playmate. He rolls around in the grass or just lays and takes the sun, and he loves the couch. My front storm door is clear glass so the dogs can look out, and he loves to sit there. Funny, since he is blind and can't look out the door, yet somehow he knows that is what it's for. We have to find him a really good home with another large dog for him to play with. He is a super good & smart dog. Loves car rides. Still has that puppy energy. He only gets excited when my little yappers start barking at him from all directions, and as he can't see where they are coming from, he just wants to get away. Otherwise, he is very calm and always by your side, be it on the floor, a chair, or the couch, snuggled up real close, very, very loving. Total mush! He is totally housebroken, and loves to just be sitting right next to you, when he's not busy playing outside.
Piro is UTD with all shots, neutered, and loves life! He needs a home with a playmate! Piro does not act like or know he is blind! He will be your special gem! To inquire about Piro please see below.
