Lila Arnold I arranged for an evaluator to go in to check out Patches. She is very sweet even though the owners said she was aggressive. Shelter staff quoted the owner as saying, "She reacts to the sound of opening beer cans, men in cowboy hats, and people using drugs." I kid you not. The evaluator said she walked Patches up and down the rows between barking dogs and she was happy and excited but not reactive. Also took Patches up to several men and once again...not reactive. I've been trying to help find her rescue. She has been moved up for adoption but staff told me this does not guarantee her safety. She is NOT DEAF but does have microphthalmia in one eye but the vision is good in the other. I've also been in contact with volunteers from this shelter. They have been banned for going public about how many dogs have been PTS. City council is trying to work out all the problems in this shelter. I worry someone will make a mistake with Patches because they are short staffed.
ReplyDeleteI had an adopter they called shelter and were told she was animal aggressive and she has cats so she would not risk it!
ReplyDeleteI talked to several volunteers who have seen the dog said not aggressive at all.
