SAFE!! XXX URGENT!! TX, Lubbock "Keller" Visually/Hearing Impaired PBT

*** saving grace pitbull rescue saved keller, if interested in adopting, please see below***

Keller was dumped a PetSmart Adoption Event on November 17th with his siblings.

They all had ringworm, but are getting much better. He is hearing and seeing impaired and needs a home willing to love him unconditionally. He also has a heart condition (aortic stenosis) and may not live into adulthood. Aortic Stenosis: partial obstruction of blood flow as it leaves the left side of the heart (left ventricle) through the main blood vessel (aorta) that carries blood to the rest of the body. The obstruction ranges from small nodules to a fibrous band, most commonly just below the aortic valve. Due to the obstruction, the heart must work harder to pump out an adequate blood volume. Clinical signs and long-term outcome depend on the degree of narrowing (stenosis). This is an autosomal dominant mode of inheritance. Congenital aortic stenosis is probably the most common form of stenosis is large breed dogs including Golden Retrievers, Rottweilers and Boxers. Due to the narrowing in the heart, the Keller's heart must work harder to pump an adequate amount of volume of blood to the rest of the body. Due to the amount f obstruction, he may be able to compensate at rest, but may not be able to keep up with body demands during exercise. As his heart compensates for this defect, it begins to thicken over time and is less able to compensate over time. To slow this decompensation, we have started Keller on a beta-blocker called propranolol to hopefully slow this process. Please give him a loving home!!
