Raymond doesn't look like he's had the best life, definitely the underdog. One eyeball is shrunken, and he appears to have some hip or back problems as he's a bit slow in getting up. But at least he is already neutered and heartworm negative! He was a stray and no owner came forward. His hold time is expired and any day could be his last. Walton County Animal Control is a government-run animal control facility. Because we are an open-intake "pound" for strays and owner surrenders, we are unfortunately not a "no-kill" shelter. As new impounds come in (which is a daily occurrence), the ones that have been here longer must sadly be put to sleep. We try to hold dogs as long as possible, but can usually only hold dogs a few days. However, with your help, our goal is to be as "low-kill" as possible! Please feel free to cross-post this email.
