Woof - my name is Tora. I am a 13 yr old female tan with white Shepherd.../Australian Shepherd mix. I weigh 61 lbs and I was brought to the North Central LA City shelter on Jan. 20th because my owner lost their home and their new Landlord would not allow pets. My owner said I am partially blind and deaf so try not to startle me because I can't always see and hear you. I was out though walking around the shelter yesterday and I look and act like a 6 year old dog!!! I seem to have no arthritis or issues in my hips and I move around extremely well. I am great with other dogs, including little dogs! I met a chi and a min poodle in the lobby of the shelter. I love to be pet and I am EXTREMELY sweet!!!
Poor senior girl Tora, 13 yrs old, blind and partially deaf and now dumped in the shelter by her owners as their new landlord does not allow pets......has great sponsorship money pledged not just to rescue her now but also a small stipend for the rest of her life....
My name is Karen Cotton. I am an attorney with the L.A. County alternate public defender's office. I have volunteered at Lange Foundation in L.A. for about 4 years and started volunteering with Best Friends about 4 months ago.
Tora is 13 years old and partially deaf and blind and she was an owner surrender to the north central shelter in los angeles county. I have not met her in person but I become committed to helping her. Her video shows she is really sweet and the shelter people say the same
So far, this is what she has pledged: $525 pledged, and I will commit to making a donation of $50 per month until Tara passes over the rainbow bridge. I can also transport her to you. I know a lot of people flake on pledges - but I am sincere. I do a monthly donation to BF of $25 per month which happens automatically.
PLEASE CONSIDER TAKING TARA - SHE SEEMS SO SWEET. There is a thread for her on facebook and many people have been trying to place her with no luck.
