It is hard to believe that the dog I am walking around the block has been called Satan by his owners. There is absolutely nothing devilish about him and we renamed him Salan not to confuse him too much. Salan might be 10 year old but he is in mint shape. He was very well cared for until it was decided that he would not fit in a new apartment and brought to our facility.....Salan is jet black, his coat is shiny and he looks like one mighty healthy dog! He walks beautifully on the leash, climbs stairs, is housetrained and coold with all dogs met on our way. He is obedient , sits on command and poses for pictures. Salan, our little love devil is quite sweet, all 89 lbs of him. He enjoys petting while sitting very close to me as we rest on the sidewalk. He is, no doubt about it, a family pet, used to people and lots of activity around him. Kids coming out of school do not bother him, on the contrary. He seems to watch them, happy and relaxed. Some large dogs with good genes and great care and love can live quite long. I am hoping just for that. Yes, a long life for Salan. Will you give him a chance? Salan is at the Manhattan Care Center. His place is with an owner, a family....
