NC, Nelson County "Lucky" Chow/Corgi X with Cataracts/Hearing Issues

LUCKY (PET ID#12631) – Nelson County Humane Society

My name is LUCKY & I’m a little bear cub of a dog. I’ve been overlooked at this no-kill shelter for TWO YEARS! Why doesn’t anyone want me?

Poor Lucky has been waiting a long time for a home of his own......this shelter tries so hard to help their dogs but they will euth at a certain point. His pictures and bio are on the attached flyer.

I’m a 6 year old, male, medium-sized, low energy, CHOW-CHOW/CORGI MIX, neutered, up-to-date with shots, sweet & well mannered. My room stays clean—I’m probably already house trained. I’m good on a leash & an easy dog to be around. I don’t jump up on people, rarely bark & I have the softest ears! I am not a fan of other dogs or cats!

Over 2 years ago, my previous owner had to give me up when she went into a retirement home. It broke my heart but I’m not ready to give up hope that one day someone will choose to love me again. Two years of “waiting” is a very long time in dog years, & I’m feeling very lonely! I want to be someone’s best friend.

MY NEEDS: Cataracts are beginning to cloud my vision & my hearing isn’t keen anymore. Because of that, I need to be an only pet in an adult family with no small children (because I startle easily if I don’t notice someone approaching me). I’m not physically perfect, but I’m deserving of love & a good home anyway. More than anything, I want & need a family to call my own, and a fenced yard would be divine! In my dreams I am feeling the loving hands of my new family caress me as I settle down to rest next to them inside my “forever home.”

Please LOOK into my eyes & SEE my beautiful but lonely soul. Then TAKE ME HOME!

Lucky is a sweet Chow-Chow/Corgi mix who wants and needs to be the only pet
in a calm household
(no kids). The flyer is self explanatory.

Feel free to get the word out to anyone you like. We will screen anyone
interested very well.. do a home check..even if it is pretty far away..and
deliver the dog too. As volunteers, that is what we do. We always want to
KNOW (for sure) that our dogs are loved and living in a safe environment.
There are just so many of them!
