Siberian Husky: An adoptable dog in Christiansburg, VA

Poor Akira has found herself abandoned and all alone at the shelter. Imagine how confused and frightened she must be after living 10+ years with her family. It seems Akira's master moved out of the home and left her with his parents. They could no longer take care of her as they have dogs of their own so they brought her to the shelter. Akira gets along with other dogs and cats. She does not due well with children due to her age, limited vision and hearing and painful hips. We are unsure of her exact age, but are guesstimating she is around 12 yrs. old. Do you have it in your heart to open up your home and keep Akira comfortable for the time she has left? Managing the arthritis/hip issues would not be very expensive.
