This is Reilly. Reilly is a very special puppy. He's about nine months old and he is deaf. He is a purebred Border Collie. He is mostly white with black spots with beautiful ice blue eyes and weighs about 30 pounds. He is neutered and has all of his shots up to date, including rabies. He was originally purchased as a purebred for $250 but I ended up adopting him from someone that just did not have the space to let him run and to use all his energy during the day. Now, unfortunately, I do not have the time to dedicate to training and spending time with him like I want to. He does know a bit of sign language and is extremely smart. He has the potential to be an absolutely fabulous dog if only he could get the dedication of time and training he deserves.

He does fairly well with other dogs his own size but he is easily imitated by any dog larger than him. He is also a bit timid if you sneak up behind him. Since he is deaf, it's easier for him to react more calmly when he is approached from the front where he can see you. He has an incredible sense of smell and loves to play in the water. He does somewhat ok with other dogs but a home where he is the center of attention would probably be the ideal setting for him until he is fully trained or acquainted with you. He likes to play with cats too. He plays a little bit rougher with my cats but that's only because they annoy him. He does not take well to children. I'm not sure what it is about kids but he just does not feel comfortable with them. He is trained to sleep in his kennel at night with blankets.Reilly does try to be a bit of a lap dog. He loves to sit with you on the couch and get his belly rubbed. He loves bones, sticks, tug of war rope ties. . . you name it! This is not what I wanted but I'm doing I believe what is best for him and that's to get the attention and love he deserves. I will be extremely cautious about who he goes to as he is very important to me. He will need a fenced in yard and he can jump fairly high and also dig very well. He is on a leash 100% of the time when not within a fenced in yard.
