SAFE!! XXX URGENT!! MA, Wilmington Partially Blind Spaniel x

Contact email: Radisah@aol.com

Here's a very urgent little one in Wilmington, MA. This one only has until Monday, and doesn't even have a name. Ellen is paying herself to keep him until Monday morning.

I am the Animal Control Officer for Wilmington, MA and I have a lovely dog in the pound that is partially blind. He is a intact male about 8 yrs old and his time was up Thursday. We do not have our own facility so we use a veterinary hosp. I can only keep him until tomorrow. I will pay for his extra days. When this poor baby came in he was a mess, he was completely knotted. I had him shaved and he will have his distemper and rabies vaccinations done. We believe that he is some type of Spaniel mix. He is all black and very sweet. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
I will pay for him myself to keep him until Monday morning. He seems to get along with every body and also other dogs.
Sincerely, Ellen Sawyer Wilmington Animal Control Officer

FL, Fort Lauderdale "MAX" Blind Beagle Mix

call Lori 954-661-0666, or email jenkins_lori@bellsouth.net
Maxi is a sweet 3 or 4 year beagle or beagle mix that sadly, after being saved from death at a high kill shelter in January went blind while sitting alone in a boarding kennel waiting for a family of his own. Unfortunately, while sitting alone he suffered an onset of blindness with no one coming to see him or take him home. Now Maxi is permanently blind and needs a home more than ever. He weighs 36 pounds, loves to eat and take short walks on a leash. He needs an individual or family that can be patient with him, and help him learn his way around the house. He needs a home where he will be safe and not allowed to run into anything dangerous, such as pointy objects, sharp bushes in the yard, or an unfenced swimming pool. Once he learns his way around a familiar environment, he can lead a happy life without his eyesight. His three important senses are smell, hearing, and touch, and Maxi is on high alert on all three of these. His blindness is new to him, so he is suffering a bit of distress from this, but once he feels secure in a home of his own, he will provide great love and satisfaction to the lucky humans that love him. In order for Maxi to settle in and feel safe in a new home, he would ideally be the only dog. Since he cannot see he walks into other dogs and they don’t understand that he cannot see, causing them to feel threatened, they growl at him, and make him feel threatened. He is fine with cats, and they don’t seem to mind him stumbling over them.

Maxi is neutered and up to date on all shots. He needs someone to follow around, who can give him some attention and short walks so that he can get a little exercise and not be bored all the time. After all the devastation Maxi has suffered in his short life, can someone please show him some kindness and make him the prince he truly is? To meet Maxi or learn more about him

Beagle/Pug Mix: An adoptable dog in Cincinnati, OH
Small • Senior • Male

Flip Flop is a senior beagle/Pug mix that just arrived at Homestretch Hounds from a rural high kill shelter. Flip Flop has spent his life until now chained to a dog house. This is especially sad given the fact that Flip Flop is blind. Flip Flop is the sweetest boy, he loves everyone. Flip Flop had a rough life up until now, he deserves to know that life can be good! Flip Flop loves a soft bed, he loves people, and melts with a tummy rub!

We are trying to raise the money to take Flip Flop to a veterinary eye specialist. This would provide for an evaluation to determine if surgery is an option for removing Flip Flop's cataracts and restoring his vision. Cataract surgery would be an expensive surgery, but it would increase Flip Flop's quality of life beyond what could be imagined. Please donate whatever you can afford to help Flip Flop to visit a specialist. A donation of any amount is so appreciated!

The owners name is Heather. Her phone number is 360-320-8874 and her email is iwantabcup@yahoo.com.

There are two special needs dogs in Oak Harbor, Washington that need help. They are both disabled.
The male is blind "Dakota", the female"Dottie" is deaf and blind. They are siblings, Australian Shep mixes. They were born in Dec 09, not spayed/neutered and haven't had their vaccinations. They have been around kids (the owner has 4 children). The owner wants them gone by the end of the month, otherwise she is taking them to the shelter.

SAFE!!NY, Hempstead "BABS"Deaf Dalmation Mix

Please contact:

plaza157@msn.com if you are interested in fostering/Adopting this cutie

Babs, The deaf Dalmation mix, will need a forever home by the middle of May, or a new foster. Her foster Mom is having foot surgery.

Babs is about 1 1/2 years old. Totally beautiful, loves all people, cats and dogs. Great with children too. She was left at the shelter when she was about 4 months old. Apparently her owner found out she was deaf so they didn't want her. That was on Valentine's day of 2010.
We started working with the shelter she was in October of last year and fell in love with her. She spent 3/4 of her life in the Shelter and now it is her turn to be loved for the rest of her life. From all the publicity we got for her, alot of interest arose and we finally found someone to foster her, and got lots of applications, but none of the permanent home apps are good for her.
The one home we loved had to back out at the last minute due to some financial problems.
I've attached a couple of pics of her, she's hard to get not trying to kiss somebody! :)
She is completely housebroken, spayed, current on all shots & microchipped. Now she just needs her furever home.
When you see her you just want to eat her up.

LALA - ID#A894556

I am an unaltered female, tan Shih Tzu mix.

The shelter staff think I am about 16 years old.

I weigh 15 pounds.

I was found in NY 10456.

I have been at the shelter since Apr 22, 2011.

This information is less than 1 hour old.
Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal:
A Volunteer Writes:
Lala is a 16 yo female Shih Tzu at the shelter since 4/22/2011. She weights 15lbs.
Lovely Lala has poor vision and is possibly deaf. She has long nails and is missing teeth. She was brought to the shelter because the owner, an elderly gma could not take care of her anymore. Beside some matting on her face and ears, Lala looks quite good for a doggie this age. Her hair are clean and silky. She walks well and she is.....housetrained. She has a great appetite. Lala is a love. She relishes to be in the arms and to be kissed. A real doll!!! She is still quite up and about and does not bump into things.
Lala is a lovely little female. She was clearly loved by her former owner. She deserves a new leash on life, her place on a soft pillow or in her new owner's bed.
Lala is at the manhattan shelter. She is waiting for her new family
