Larry has been altered.
Larry was in a high kill shelter for a week, than sent to a foster, but the other doggies picked on him, so he went into boarding.
Atlanta Dog Squad found another foster, but again their dog had issues with Larry, so instead of trying some training help, they brought him back to boarding :(
10/15: My group rescued a black lab that was picked up as a stray. He spent a week in a high kill shelter before we could get him to our vet. He is blind - but I think he sees some shadows - he definitely saw the flash from my camera. He was also terrified (as can be expected), emaciated and he had heartworms - in addition to an Upper Respiratory Infection that kept him from eating for a while.
Anyhow - he is near completing his heartworm treatment and has put on some weight and is doing very, very well... however.. the only foster home we had willing to take a blind dog didnt work out. Their dogs wouldnt accept him and threatened him -- he was pretty unnerved there so we had to move him back to boarding.
Is there anyone out there in the metro Atlanta area that might consider fostering him for us? We feel horrible that he is stuck in boarding and not getting the attention and interaction he needs. We provide all vetting, HW and flea prevention and even food if you need it. He is a good boy - and he will do very well in a stable home.
