Loveable German Shepherd that has training, but needs some more to be the perfect gentleman!
Just a little bit about Lucky: He is deaf, but may be able to hear some very high pitches. He is black and tan and about 1 year and 4 months old. I beleive his birthdate is May 4, 2010. He has learned some hand sign commands, but performs them inconsistently. He responds best when using a treat or toy
Why am i giving him up? -Lucky started out learning his hands sign signals well, but unfortunately I do not have the time to devote to his special needs training as my husband & I have full time jobs in addition to a small farm and two children with busy social schedules. :)
Lucky has a current rabies shot. He had two rounds of vaccinations as a puppy.
No medical issues.
Not neutered, but we would be willing to help with this cost if it would help him find a home.
We got Lucky when he was about 9 weeks old. No disbility was known at the time, but within a week we realized that something was not right. We took him to two different vets (Northern Tier Veterinary Clinic in Knoxville, PA and Town and Country Veterinary Hospital in Corning, NY). He was determined to be deaf at that point. We think he may be able hear some very high pitches. One night my daughter blew too hard on her clarinet and he went running and peeing through the whole house. :)
Very energetic, which makes him hard to walk without an antipull collar. He does still jump up on people when he first sees them, but normally calms down. He is a bit rough when he plays with our Pug, but he doesn't get vicious, just can't hear the complaints and doesn't know when enough is enough. He just puts his mouth on you.
Our children are 8 and 10. He seems find around them, other than that if he is running around and doesn't see them he knocks them over.
Lucky chases cats if they run from him. He plays well with our Pug, but does not get along well with our other small mixed breed dog. He sometimes fights over treats but he is happy to share his toys.
