URGENT!! WV, Cottageville: "Jake", Blind ACD

Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) Dog
Status: Adoptable
Size: M Age: Adult Gender: M

This pet is: a special needs pet

Notes:
Jake is listed as special needs because he is deaf. But he doesn't let that get in the way of enjoying all the good things he is experiencing. You see, Jake is a smart fella and learns quickly even if he has to have a little different style of training. But he didn't get training; he was tied to the end of a chain until the legal seizure of many animals at his home set him free and he went home for fostering with one of the volunteers. She says he is a good dog and a joy to watch. He doesn't know he is different, and he plays well with her other dogs. As a matter of fact, he's the most adventurous one in the pool and dived right to the bottom of the water for the treats. He loves to fetch and to chase a ball. He chases birds, too, and he hasn't been tested with cats. He exhibits some resource guarding and will cover his food with straw and check it often. It will take him a while to know that he will not have to go hungry again. He is 28 pounds and is thought to be 2-3 years old. He just wants to be loved, so he's not so different after all.
