What an adorable puppy...needs rescue... please read below:
Hello,
My name is Holly Kicher. I have a litter of puppies that I got at 5 days old, they are now 4 weeks old. Their mom passed away 2-3 days after they were born. A animal group asked me to foster them until they could find a permanent rescue group to take them. They were very sick and went to the vet right away. At first the vet thought they had some type of skin issues. It turned out to be Canine Herpes. Over half of the litter passed away and one had to be put to sleep. There were 10 puppies, only 4 survived. The puppies that did survive faced many issues, one being blindness. Unfortunately, one of the little girls was diagnosed with glaucoma in her left eye. It appears to be happening in her right eye too. The vet said it might need to be removed if it causes her infections or other problems. She is way too young for that right now, he said the anesthesia would kill her. So right now we are treating her medically and hoping to improve her eye quality. I have her eating food on her own and she seems to be very happy. We are working on finding the others a rescue to help get them adopted. I want this girl to go to a rescue who can take care of her and not euthanize her because of her eye. The vet didnt feel she needed to be euthanized. I was hoping I could find her a rescue that specializes in special needs dogs. So I came across your rescue. Please let me know if you can help her. I’ve attached a picture of her. She is still shedding the herpes funk, so that is what is all over her too. Two of the other puppies are completely clear, Tinker and her sister are taking a little longer. They’ve also started on another round of antibiotics.
Thanks,
Holly
