Meet Bonk, the blind dog with the heart of gold!
My name is Bonk and my situation has become urgent because my foster mom, who pulled me last minute from a high-kill shelter because she fell in love with my sweet face and couldn't let me die, is being evicted unexpectedly. I just haven't found my perfect home yet but maybe it could be you! I am a happy, spirited, and loving boy, weighing in at approximately 55 pounds and am around 2 years old, but definitely past my puppy phase (no chewing, yay!), neutered, and up to date on all my vaccinations. I am not quire sure what breed I am, but people think possibly American Staffordshire or American Pitbull, with possibly a little Mastiff thrown in and maybe even some Basset Hound! With my oversized feet, floppy ears, and large head, I am a true comic and joy to be around. Everyone who meets me can’t help but smile, and I looove everyone -- I even let kids tug on my big ole ears! I need to be the only dog in the house for now because I get anxious around other dogs. However, I currently live with another dog and I loooove her. My foster mom thinks with continued training (which she will contribute to) I could have some doggie friends.
I would do well in any space, large or small – I love my walks but I'm happy to explore and sniff for a bit and then come back home and get on your lap for snuggle time! People think I was born blind because of how well I "map" place -- I figured out how to go up and down the stairs in my foster mom's house in only 1 day! Don't be fooled -- my blindness doesn’t stop me from having fun -- I have even learned how to fetch! So if you want a companion that will give you unconditional love and keep you smiling, I am your guy! Won’t you give me the home I have been waiting for?
Bonk is already neutered and UTD on all of his shots.
