Abby has started to be frightened of the toddlers crawling around her and the family fears she may get worse. Can't blame Abby for being affraid of the situations she is being placed into. If you can offer any help, I will be more than happy to help with transport or anything else I can do.

Thanks!

Abby is 10 yrs old and has been blind for about 2 years now.  She is otherwise very healthy.  She is craving attention, and has lots of energy.

Unfortunately, with small children and her being blind, we feel uncomfortable having her in the home right now.

Attached are some photos of Abby.

Thanks for your help.

NJ, Blind Terrier

He is sooo sweet. This little guy may be blind, but he is a charmer. He wags his tale and sniffs the ground to find things. He is around 8 years old and weighs 12 lbs. He has a beautiful red coat. Can you be that special person who can look beyond his eyes and see the wonderful, loving little dog he is?

Volunteer favorite sweet Phoebe is really relying on rescue assistance. She has entropion eyelids and she's in pain! She doesn't stand much of a chance of public adoption due to her eye issues - so she is hoping for rescue help!
Entropion is the the turning in of the edges of the eyelid so that the lashes rub against the eye surface. It is painful and can cause cornea damage if left untreated. This is very uncomfortable and  painful.. but easily corrected with surgery. Imagine having all of your lashes rubbing on your eyeballs!
Please spread the word about Phoebe.

Poughkeepsie, Dolly Blind Cocker

I had another Vet look at Dolly today. Her biggest problem is her teeth. (she needs extractions & cleaning) Her right eye has growths around it that need to come off according to Dr. Quattro. she has cataracts and has poor vision but is not completely blind. She cannot hear at all right now due to ear infection. (however they have gotten better. ) Her weight was 21 lbs upon intake and is still the same today. We are changing her diet to something she can lap up. (wet food with water) She has skin lesions. She does drip urine. She has a spay scar but vet thinks she was spayed late in life. She is approx 8-10 yrs Her hold is up this fri 1/22/10 she's going to need someone who can deal with some issues and afford to have Vet work done. She is soo sweet.

IL, Holly Bichon/Poodle

My name is Holly. I am 8 years young and the tinest little girl. I am a bichon/poodle mix and weigh 8 lbs. Small Paws Rescue saved me from a high kill shelter. My previous owners dropped me off there, in terrible condition. I was matted from head to paw with sores all over my back. I had to be shaved but guess what, all my sores are gone! Thanks to Small Paws!  I also have PDA, which is a condition that causes degeneration to my retinas(eyes). This condition causes the loss of night vision, that progresses to day vision.. the Dogtor says, I won't lose all my vision. There is nothing that can be surgically done.  This does not worry me, because I get around great..I love to be with my foster mom. She says, I am like a baby. I love to be held and will cuddle right next to you.

Holly is spayed, upto date on all vaccinations, and dental.

If you can help please contact:
Sara Pace, Small Paws Rescue teamleader IL and IN

I love to sleep in the big bed, snuggled right up to my foster mom. I am housetrained and walk good on a leash.
If you are looking for a great companion, I am your girl..

Hi, friends. My name is Jake and I'm very sad. My daddy brought me to the
shelter today and I heard him say that he didn't want me anymore. I thought
I was a good boy. The staff here say I'm a laidback sweetie. I've lived
with children and appear to be housetrained. I'm only 5 years old, but I am
blind. That means I will need some special care in the right home so that I
am safe. I don't ask for much: a warm place to sleep, a little love, and
some guidance so that I won't go lost (I can't see, remember). If you can
provide those things for me, I will return the favor with a lifetime of puppy
kisses. See you soon!

Conroe TX Blind Pekinese

Nevada, **VERY URGENT** Buddy needs a foster home!

http://gwny.webs.com/buddy.htm

Buddy is sight impaired. To what extent I am not sure of, he can navigate around fences, bushes and other big objects. It is small things like yellow hot wire he does not see.
Buddy does not like being sight impaired and sometimes shows his frustration by snarling (once he feels safe) at objects/shadows he does not understand what they are. His snarling has lessen as he ages and with more time I spend with him, I believe it occurs when he does not understand what he is viewing and/or is stressed and lonely.
High winds seems scare him some, he just sort of sits there ducking his head or has his ears back trying to figure out what is happening around him. There is nothing wrong with his hearing, if anything he probably hears better then most.
He is not exactly the brightest bulb in the pack and he is not stupid; its common sense that sometimes escapes him. Example: Feeding time...he is behind the fence with the gate open excitedly running back and forth looking for the gate. I get close to the gate so he can navigate through.
He is a Dork; a beautiful, sweet-loving and clumsy dork that wonders around in his own little world is the best way to describe him. The way he fast-walk or tries to run always puts a smile on my face.
In spite of my effort’s trying to get him to shelter himself during bad weather has been difficult (I think is has something to do with his sight problems and sounds he cannot see clearly). I have even tried to get him to sleep on piles of hay during the night…I just bring him in the house and baby-gate him in the kitchen at night anymore and he still chooses to sleeps on the bare floor.
I would not put him around kids and he will do well around other dogs as long as the other dog does not have a weaker, wimpier nature then him. He has been picked on often (during feeding time) and would not like him to have to continue living with with that.
He does have the, “I molt Husky coat” and it needs care. He likes being brushed and will roll over and dance for you while bushing him. Does well under hose (I’ll run water on him when it’s really hot)
Pretty sure he will not get much bigger then he is and he certainly needs to put on more weight. Nevertheless, I do not think he will get much over 70lbs.
He's a real pretty baby on top of his sweetness! And he is a baby that likes to wrap his body around your legs; even if you are walking :-).
