In need of a forever home.
I had originally planned to adopt Bobby when I agreed to take him from the shelter. He is eight years old and has very limited vision. He adapts very quickly and uses his nose to make up for what he cannot see. But, the problem with my adopting him is that he HATES and I do mean HATES one of my other foster dogs, Maxamillion. He is fine with my own two dogs, and my other two foster dogs. In fact, he wrestles and plays with Maximus. But he has hated Little Max from day one (which was Christmas Eve) and still goes after him with a vengeance at any given opportunity. We are afraid that this might be a pattern with any new male dog coming into our home situation and that would make life as a foster home pretty miserable. Bobby is affectionate, calm, loves to relax in his crate with the door open, a very enthusiastic eater, rides well in the car and does well on a leash. He will destroy soft dog toys with great abandon. He loves to play with balls of any sort. Bobby had a very rough life - before he came to VGSR he lived in crate on a porch, or was shut down in the basement when the weather got too bad. He is one of those poor souls whose life actually became BETTER after he went to the animal shelter. Because of the way that he likes to shred his toys, I am guessing that a home with a cat would not be a good idea. Also, because of his limited vision, he probably would do best in a home without very young children. But, Bob is a great guy that deserves a chance.
